Flag off – Vamini’s Ride Across Sri Lanka

The ride across Sri lanka initiated by Vamini to break the Stereotype among women in India as well as promote the sport of mountain biking which she is amazingly energetic about was flagged off from Colombo by the women cyclist group ‘Pedal Pushers’ – Lalanthi Rajapakse, Dharshini Ariyaratne. There was good support from the cylists group in Colombo and a lot of riders were present for the flag off. Qasid from the Pedal Pushers group rode alongside Vamini and Ashish for 30 Kms.
Vamini Sethi, a successful banker at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Gurgaon and Ashish Sood from HASTPA, nominated to be a technical support to Vamini have set off their journey from Colombo heading to Mirisi covering a distance of approximately 146kms before coming to a halt on Day 1.
“I would like to thank HASTPA and UTedgebikes for their immense support. Heartfelt gratitude to the women cyclist group of Colombo ‘Pedal Pushers’ , Sanjeevan Jeevaratnam and cycle.lk for their support. I have taken up this challenge for a good cause and without the support of all the partners it would have not been possible to start off this challenge” said the enthusiastic Vamini Sethi. She is undertaking this excursion to support women, to bring out the extraordinary in every woman.
