Day 9 – Vamini’s Ride Across Sri Lanka
There is an extraordinary in every woman
Supported by UT Edge Hero Cycles
Presented by HASTPA
Accomplishing more than a 1100 kms in a mere 9 days riding across Sri Lanka, Vamini Sethi has emerged victorious. A professional banker with an MNC in Gurgaon, Vamini took up the challenge of riding across the island nation to break the stereotype surrounding women to follow their passions. She believes that there is an extraordinary in every woman. The expedition is supported by HASTPA and sponsored by UT Edge.
Through these past 9 days, the riders have come fared well through the unforgiving heat, the storms and the rains riding an average of a 100 kms every day. It is by no means an easy task to accomplish what Vamini and Ashish have.
As the day is progressing, they are quickly coming to an end of the ride across Sri Lanka. The last leg of the ride took the riders from Puttaalam to Colombo via Negombo on the West Coast, covering a distance of 150 kms. Today, Vamini will close loop the circuit that started on 12 June covering Colombo, Galle, Matara, Kalmunai, Kinniya, Vavuniya, Puttalam and back to Colombo.
‘We congratulate Vamini and Ashish for completing the touch and challenging expedition. Challenges are always mentally tough. And only the tough can achieve them’, said Mohit Sood, President HASTPA. Every year, HASTPA organizes Hero MTB Himalaya, considered as one of the toughest mountain biking events in the world.
