Day 4 – Vamini’s Ride Across Sri Lanka
On a mission to empower and inspire women, Vamini Sethi has taken up the challenge to ride across Sri Lanka. The expedition is supported by HASTPA and sponsored by UT Edge. The race spans over 9 days, covering over 1000 kms.The heroic Vamini started the expedition on 14 June, 2015 and has moved into Day 4 of the journey.
The Day 3 ride ended as the shortest stage of the ride across Sri Lanka, riding through the biggest sanctuary in the country and coming to a halt at Katragama covering 105 kms by the coastline. This turned out to be yet another challenging day in the saddle for Vamini and Ashish riding along the countryside.
As Day 4 progresses, the riders have already covered half the distance upto Monargala of the longer stage all the way from Katragama crossing Jungle corridors. The riders came across wild elephants in their eventful ride to Sri Lanka’s surfing capital – Arugum Bay. The total distance to be covered on Day 4 is 135 kms.
“An extreme rider on an extreme bike, making an impossible ride possible – Vamini with UT Edge, on their journey to create history. Great work from Ashish to make this happen’, said Mr. Gopal Krishnan, Business Head – UT Bikes.
