Day 2 – Vamini’s Ride Across Sri Lanka
Presented by HASTPA
Supported by UT EDGE Bikes
After a long and grueling ride on Day 1 from Colombo to Mirisi covering a distance of 150kms across the beautiful island country of Sri Lanka, Vamini and Ashish are now set to start a rain hit Day 2. The route will take the riders to Thissamaharama which is expected to be a distance of around 100kms.
The weather conditions in the island are difficult to ride in but our daredevil riders have their minds set to conquer the quest. Vamini and Ashish are both very courageous individuals. It is the second day of the ride which is set over 1000 kms to be covered in just 9 days. Our riders have received great support from the cycling groups in Sri Lanka for the ride. We at HASTPA are advancing Vamini’s ride crosswise over Sri Lanka upheld by UT bicycles from 14-23 June 2015. This performance ride is being embraced to promote the sport of mountain biking among women and also to break the stereotype around women in India and it will surely be a great success.
