A lone cyclist

Meet Vara Prasad from Chennai. MTB Himalaya office saw his surprise visit today morning. He was here from Chennai with not so detailed plans and has decided to travel and explore the higher Himalayas on his mountain bike on his own( yeah, no one else, no pre bookings to food & lodge, no detailed plans, no worries , so no fuss).Vara Prasad was here at the race last year. He is a young hardcore cycling enthusiast taking  out the maximum time from his busy schedules at IIT to pursue his adventure in cycling.

He plans to ride 70-100 Km today and want to stay by Satluj river bank tonight on the way up to Kinnaur,(Himachal). But earlier in the morning when he reached Shimla, he broke his bike’s quick release without any reason (the way mountains welcome) and wasted half day fixing it.He has done only a few research on his itinerary  and has only 2 sheet list of places to go by. He plan to ride through Kinnaur,Spiti, Leh and will head back from Jammu – such a short itinerary for this long trip.

The only thing he is taking along is his firm determination of cycling in the most amazing landscape on this planet, discover and experience the adventure in a unique way. We wish him a successful journey ahead and will share a detailed story once he is back from his journey.
